ABOUT THE PRACTICE

  • The healing and embodied Yoga Journey is a practice that unites the body, mind, and breath to cultivate balance, strength, and inner clarity. It is an art and a science. Rooted in ancient traditions and supported by modern neuroscience, yoga is a holistic system designed to promote physical vitality, mental focus, clarity, and emotional resilience, while assisting with change and self-limiting beliefs -- quite literally creating new neural pathways.

  • As an art, yoga is a deeply personal & intimate exploration. It meets each individual exactly where they are, encouraging mindful movement, self-awareness, presence and authentic, creative expression. As a science, modern data reflects what the ancients already knew. The practice combines stretching, movement & postures (asana), kriya sequences, breathwork (pranayama), sound healing and meditation (both active & passive), that are proven to support nervous system regulation, mobility, and overall mood & well-being. Yoga balances the glandular system, improves heart health, strengthens immune system response, reduces chronic pain and enables us to harness the energy of the mind & our emotions so we can be in better control of ourselves, rather than being reactive & controlled by our thoughts and feelings.

  • Healing is made available through understanding the feelings, expressions, and responses within the movement and holding space for the effects of all types of injury including stress, trauma, burnout, anxiety, depression, fatigue and post-illness recovery.

  • We will work together to address these things on the mat. Private instruction provides the space for yoga to become truly personalized, to dial into any heaviness, pain or stagnancy that you may have been carrying for weeks, months, or even years. To be witnessed, to be cleared, to be transformed.

We practice asanas & kriyas – specific sequences of yoga postures, breath techniques, and meditations – to produce specific results.     The Signature 90 Day Transformation Program

  • A complete guide to understanding, working with and developing a deeper connection to your body and your energy centers to promote healing & healthy transformation. We will be focusing on the main 8 energy centers, which area of your life they relate to, how they affect your health & emotional state, recognizing when they are weak and how to keep them balanced.

  • This course is for you if you wish to clear any blockages that may be hindering you from living a happy & healthy purposeful life.

  • As we journey through a tailored-to-you curriculum design and thematic progression, you will be provided with practical tools to take charge of your well-being, express your true self, and navigate your journey towards living to your full potential. You will be provided with the experience of individualized guidance and the opportunity to have a yoga instructor’s personal attention to take the yoga off the mat and into your real life, using the following Teacher-curated framework:

Come prepared with an intention or choose one from a list curated by Abi to fit the duration as well as meet common objectives for radiant health & well-being on all levels.

ABOUT THE TEACHING ARTIST


Abi Anahata is an eternal student and devoted teacher of yoga, with over nearly two decades of study & practice across multiple traditions, including Kundalini Kriya, Hatha-Vinyasa, Bhakti, Jnana, Yin, Ashtanga and Jivamukti Yoga. Since beginning her journey in 2002, she has been committed to weaving the ancient wisdom of yoga into modern-day life, crafting deeply integrative 1:1 sessions that support holistic healing, self-awareness, and heart-centered living.

Her specialty lies in holding sacred & safe space, employing somatics and mindful creativity—guiding her clients through personalized practices that reconnect body, mind, and spirit. With a unique approach rooted in sacred movement, nervous system regulation, and ritual, she holds space for transformation that is both grounded and expansive.

Driven by a mission to empower 10,000 individuals to take full ownership of their well-being, Abi Anahata brings compassion, insight, and precision to each session. Her teaching is rooted in care & is intuitive yet deeply informed by classical lineage, personal practice, and lifelong learning.

She first discovered yoga in her teenage years and made a vow to one day journey to Bharat (Incredible India), the motherland of yoga. That dream became a reality in 2008 with her first pilgrimage to Northern India, and again in 2022–2023 when she immersed herself in deep study in Tamil Nadu, South India. There, she experienced firsthand the profound effects of yoga asana, kriya, pranayama (breathwork), mantra, and meditation—not only as physical disciplines but as technologies for regulating the nervous system and awakening the spirit.

From her home base in New York City, she continues to travel the world, studying with some of the most respected yoga masters and wisdom keepers. Forever a student, she brings the depth of these teachings to each client she works with and in her retreat leadership experiences —blending traditional yogic knowledge with lived experience and embodied wisdom.

Her teaching style is dynamic and soulful—infused with the vibrancy of Kundalini energy and the structure of Hatha-Vinyasa flows. She draws from her diverse background in Capoeira, ballet, modern and belly dance, Qi Gong, and Pilates to create a uniquely embodied practice. Each session is a sacred container, where breath, movement, sound, and stillness come together to cultivate peace, resilience, and joy.

Abi Anahata holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. John's University, and a Master of Science degree from New York University, bringing a philosophical, clinical and bio-behavioral science lens to her work. This academic foundation enhances her ability to guide clients through sustainable lifestyle changes and to support long-term mental, emotional, behavioral and physical transformation.
